The John J. Brogan Bereavement
Center, a program of Hospice of Palm Beach
County, offers many different services and
support to assist people facing life-changing
events. Coping with the difficulties surrounding
these events may require new skills or just the
ability to talk with others who are living through similar experiences.
The John J. Brogan Bereavement Center provides the one
service in our community that can be utilized by every child, teen and
adult - for each of us at some point will experience the loss of a loved
one. Assistance is available to anyone in the community who has
experienced a loss - families, adults, teens and children. The grief related
services are offered at no charge to the families and friends
of hospice patients. Reading materials about the grief process and
mourning are provided upon request or as part of the counseling and
group support.
Grief Support Groups
Support groups are offered at different times and locations
throughout the county. These are designed to provide an opportunity
for individuals to share their grief safely and have contact with others
who have had similar losses. Anyone wishing to attend a support
group will first be seen individually by a bereavement counselor.
"The Nature of Grief" Workshop Series
This is a three-part workshop experience for bereaved adults, which
provides information on the grief process, the impact of grief on
relationships, worldview, jobs and identity, and ways of coping.
Individual and Family Grief Support
Individual and family bereavement counseling are provided to
Hospice and community families. Counselors recognize the
individuality of grief and use a variety of methods to support adults,
teens and children in their grief journey. Counseling sessions may be
individual or group.
