Hospice of Palm Beach County is proud to announce the promotions of three longtime employees within the Supportive Care Department. Chelsea Johnson, MS, MT-BC, LMT, who has been with the organization since 2001, has been promoted to Supportive Care Manager; Adrea Guaglione, LCSW, has been promoted to Counseling Resource Leader and Carla Tanguay, MA, MT-BC, has been promoted to Music Therapy and Internship Coordinator.

In her new role, Chelsea Johnson, a Board Certified Music Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Reiki Master, will oversee the Supportive Care programs including our Bereavement, Integrative Therapies, and Music Therapy programs. In her tenure at Hospice of Palm Beach County, Chelsea has served as a music therapist on the teams, as well as a children’s bereavement counselor. She also conceptualized and pioneered the Integrative Therapies program, which offers a variety of integrative modalities, which in addition to music therapy, are provided at no additional cost to patients and families currently receiving hospice services. Also available to all residents of the community, at no cost, are grief support groups, "The Nature of Grief" workshop series, individual and family grief support, anticipatory grief support for children and teens, school support groups and many other programs.

Adrea Guaglione, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who will now serve as Counseling Resource Leader, has been with Hospice of Palm Beach County since 2006. As Counseling Resource Leader, Adrea will assist in the development of new bereavement programs and will work closely with clinical social work staff to assist them in furthering their expertise in their field. She will also assist clinical staff in obtaining state licensure through clinical supervision.

Also promoted is Board Certified Music Therapist, Carla Tanguay. Since 2001, hundreds of hospice patients have benefitted from Carla’s skill and expertise as a music therapist. In this new role, Carla’s responsibilities will expand to include the mentoring of all Hospice of Palm Beach County interns. She will also serve as a clinical resource to the music therapy staff, providing support and oversight to their clinical music therapy practice. Carla’s dedication to the music therapy program has been integral in helping the music therapy internship program receive national recognition. Her goal is to bring such prominence and recognition to our other internship programs including social work and pastoral care.

“I am extremely proud of the work that these three do for our organization,” said Regina DiPietro, Director of Supportive Services. “They are all experts in their fields and have used their artistic talents and compassionate nature to help patients and families in our care. I am excited to see them all grow in their new roles”
